Artist’s Description: I developed an appreciation of the Silverlake area in Los Angeles the year prior to making this painting. I went there weekly to participate in a deep meditation practice. One of the days after my meditation, I wandered with my camera and captured an image of a mother walking across the street at Parkman with her little boy. There was something about how she carried his backpack that captured my attention.
