Artist’s Description: Vacation in the City documents a few moments from a trip to Time Square in New York City. I mainly painted this work because of a fascination with the colors of the dancer with the pink head plumes taking photos with tourists. I also appreciated how the pinks in the nearby couple matched the dancer. This couple and dancer can be seen from a different perspective in Vacation in the City 2. There is a black and white striped pattern in the lower right of the painting that is actually the shoulder of Heather who appeared in Heather in Brooklyn and Corner of Pearl.
