In our artist talk this past Sunday, the topic of how art promotes problem solving skills came up, both for the people making art and those who learn to see.
Studies show that children who develop their creativity more are less likely to resort to violence because they have the imagination to see ways out of their problems.
So pack the kids and bring them to see art, even on a school night. I grew up seeing art on most school nights:)
