Artist’s Description: Something about the components of this street corner captured my attention. The taxi approaching in the background probably helped since I love cabs. The girl in the striped dress is again Heather, who I spoke of in the description for Heather in Brooklyn. When she visited me in LA she wore red shoes everywhere we went. I have fond memories of us laughing in Hollywood and her taking off her red heals to have better traction on the mountain side where we went to view the city. She held them in the air as she looked out over the skyline.  Even though this painting is of New York, I put a little bit of our Hollywood laughter in this painting and made her shoes red to honor those moments and a friendship that has followed me over years, even when our lives are far apart…the best friendships seem to work that way…time doesn’t matter, hearts always remember.
