I often walk down the street in this painting when I stay in Laguna Beach. There
is a charm and elegance in this area that feels like home. At midnight on my
birthday in 2012, I stood outside sketching this street, then I colored in the
sketch in the dark. Once in the light I laughed as my color choices by street light
were not quite my intention. This painting took on its own energy that is quite
different from the feeling I have walking in Laguna at night. However, the
painting started from there.
