Italy on the Horizon

As I prepare for another summer painting in Italy, I don’t think I even announced my departure or return last summer. There is something so nice about the continued return to paint on the remote farm south of Rome that has become like a second home to me.

Glimpses from Liguria Last Summer:

Sketching in Cinque Terre for days proceeded the making of a large scale commission when I returned last October, more below.

and of coarse there were boats…

and stunning views

and side trips

sketching in Manarola

painting in Porto Venere with visits to Camogli, Rapallo, Portofino, Santa Margarita and Rio Maggiore (if you are interested in a commission of any of these locations)

I’m not sure I have words yet for this painting…The painting took about 5.5 months…and still I’m at a loss of words…So instead I will just share photos.

The process for Visions of Vernazza:

If you responded to the offer to make wishes for people while painting, your wishes were made while working on this Vernazza painting.

Thank you to the many neighbors and friends who helped me carry this painting daily to set it up and take it down.

If you would like you own commission, message me–as there are lots of options of places I’ve been or could go!
