Words from Collectors
“I’m in love. I got the painting I wanted from Brooke Harker! It’s just absolutely stunning and gorgeous. I’m so glad my husband took me up on it cause I raved and raved and raved when I saw it in person after seeing it online. Thank you so much for painting it, it’s such a beautiful beautiful beautiful painting. I’ll treasure it my whole life.”
– Mary, Huntington Beach

“It is difficult to describe Brooke Harker and her artwork without resorting to metaphor and simile. Mere words fall short of capturing the complexity of feelings her work inspires. Brooke and her work are as electric as a fireworks show.

Boardwalk Boogie, which we now own, practically vibrates with joy. The colors are radiant, the energy magnetic, and the detail extraordinary. Gazing at the painting, we felt as though we were being lifted off the ground, floating above reality in a balloon of joy. Truly remarkable. Today, years later, we still feel that shock as though we have been injected with a joy serum. And we are not alone. When our guests see the painting, their mouths drop open in awe that something can be so beautiful and feel so alive. It is as if Brooke has captured a euphoric moment in time and preserved it in paint and somehow, I cannot fathom how, retains the sense of fluid movement. It is as if we can enter the painting, join the sunbathers, time-travel into their joyful world.

While our collection began with Boardwalk Boogie, we added Bring the Sunshine, to place over our bed. So, we begin the day gazing at Boardwalk Boogie over breakfast, and end it gazing at the 38″ x 90″ painting and marveling at the detail. We regularly discover something new hidden in the palette knife strokes and intricate ink work. Brooke’s art bookends our daily existence. Beauty and joy, perfect bookends for a happy life.

“You are bringing meaning into a home. What you create is beautiful and symbolic in more ways than one. When I stand in front of your painting of Rome. I think of my time there and it transports me back there. Your paintings are like a vacation”
– Sheryl, Beverly Hills, CA

“I used to buy art just to match the furniture, but bringing a one-of-a-kind piece into my home completely shifted the energy of the room. It’s no longer just ‘decor’—it’s a conversation starter. I love that it’s the first thing people notice, and it’s even better being able to share the story of the artist and the connection we made when I bought it.”
– Kimberlee, Sherman Oaks, CA

“Every time I walk up my staircase, I am honored to see this painting. It’s such a lovely work of art. I am in love with your art. I really can not tell you how many compliments I get on both of them. Truly special”
– Jacquelyn, Laguna Beach, CA

“Seeing the gazebo in our beautiful painting, always brings a smile to our faces and becomes dearer with every passing year. Whenever people come over and admire our painting, there is a very special personal story that we add to it. Mike proposed to me in that gazebo in Laguna Beach. That was almost 43 years ago! We love this beautiful painting by Brooke Harker. We are honored to house one of your originals. I smile every day and am lifted by its light. Still a constant source of comfort. Your paintings are beautiful! And I love seeing your enthusiasm.”
– Sue, Northridge, CA

“The painting is the first thing people see when they enter our home. With the passage of time I can now confidently say that it does create a welcoming bridge from the outside world into our home. Thank you for the beautiful art!”
– Joss, Avondale Estates, Georgia

“You gave me permission to love my space. The painting reconnects me to a time in my youth when I studied and traveled in Europe. Being able to follow your journey when you are sketching and painting and sharing your stories and days with us connects me to you, a long time friend who I deeply admire and love.”
– June, Minneapolis, MN

“I truly believe that we only bring the art into our space (our world) that are deeply connected with us, it’s highly personal. We resonate with a particular piece at a particular moment in our life. We have our reasons, sometimes we may not have all the “reasonable narratives”, but we always have that knowing, a deep knowing. It’s a calling! Learning your creative journey for the work: the Italian meant-to-be connection, the career leaping point, the very private heart aching moment, I felt such a privilege that both of your works created in Italy years ago during that important phrase of your life are now at my home, in my living room and bedroom! and I look at them everyday!

I’m also deeply grateful by your intuitive ability to see my light, and the way I connected with your art. It’s not random that we connected through your art and that our friendship continues to flourish. Your work has story, and you are a story teller.”
– Lianne, Marina del Rey

“At the time I got my first Brooke Harker painting, I was in living in Washington DC and missed the sunshine, palm trees and beaches of SoCal. A vibrant painting of the Venice boardwalk brought a little bit of California to the East Coast. A couple years later I fell in love with a painting of the Malibu coastline which perfectly captured the waves and ocean breeze.
Eventually, together with my parents, I commissioned Brooke to complete two paintings of my favorite spot in the south of France in the Camargue. To round off my collection (for now), I couldn’t resist acquiring a large painting of the Avalon harbor in Catalina. The painting is like a living and breathing window opening up any space or room it lives in.”
– Malte, Lake Tahoe & Kaarst, Germany

“Brooke blew me away with how she captured the essence of Venice Beach in each painting. With her incredible talent and unique perspective, she helped bring a piece of Venice magic into my home!”
– Jennifer, Toronto-Canada

“The first time I saw a Brooke Harker’s paintings, I was overwhelmed with the beauty and color. The emotion kind of caught in my throat. I purchased this painting because it reminds me of wonderfully spent days at the beach, trips abroad, and that special place I go to in my mind for a respite. “
– Judy Santos, Sherman Oaks, CA

“Your paintings are the gifts to ourselves that keep on giving! We are so proud to have four of your paintings in our home. They continue to bring us so much joy. Gazing at Beverly Hills Taxi especially while I work from home never stops helping me clear my head and reduce my stress. Something about the thick black brushstrokes against the mix of blues, along with the perfectly imperfect drips of color still draws me into it all of these years later.
Don’t ever stop bringing your treasures into this crazy, turbulent world we live in.”
– Amy & Kevin, Tarzana, CA

“Romance, grit, beauty, passion, sadness, antiquity, vibrancy, love…how you manage to capture all this in your paintings leaves me amazed. I am not easily impressed when it comes to the arts. There is so much out there and most of it is mediocre. Not only is your work pleasing, but it’s fresh, it’s new, it’s relevant, it feels important in the art world. It is accessible but extremely modern, and that my dear is a difficult thing to manage. “
– Spencer, Ames, Iowa

“I live near Brooke Harker and have had the distinct pleasure of watching her create many of her wonderful paintings for some years now. Every single one of them is truly a work of joy, which frankly, is a manifestation of her own lovely spirit, and is greatly reflected in the energy of her work.
Her landscapes are of many locations, but she manages to expertly capture each of them thru simple paint and canvas to create works that exude exactly what the spirit and mood of the actual location would be, if you were there in person.
The peacefulness of sleepy old villages, the joy of seaside towns, the vibrant energy of busy city streets, the beauty and grace of historic places in Europe, and more -all in a style, and colors, that burst with joy and reflect her love of the subject matter.
I consider myself very lucky to now have one my own paintings of hers in my living room. Having grown up along the coast in Southern California I am thrilled with my vibrant painting of a busy, action-filled beach, which constantly evokes my own memories of such places. I believe all of her paintings have that ability; to touch, and create, emotional response- mostly Joy, for me. And that’s just about the greatest thing art can do.”
– Carin, Sherman Oaks, CA

“Brooke Harker’s work has been a fantastic addition to my home. Her paintings fill my walls with life and give them an explosion of color! Her work is so beautifully crafted and I am so grateful to own just a couple of her paintings! Not only that, but having some of her original pieces just make me feel so incredibly happy that I am a part of her journey and those pieces show that I have supported her for a very long time, and of course, will continue to do so because she is that amazing! I just wish I had more space in my house for more of her artwork!”
– Christopher, Los Angeles, CA & Florida

“To have spent time sharing space with an artist like Brooke Harker is like a kiss from the moon! I have never known someone with as much energy and sincerity, and her art reflects both of these. She truly has a profound connection to humanity as well as individual souls, to intricate landscapes as well as individual colors, on canvas and off. As her college roommate, I watched as she translated her daily experiences, travels, and emotions onto the canvas in our dingy apartment kitchen. Her work and presence can brighten any space. In short, Brookie Harker is an incredible artist and an incredible spirit!”
– Anne, Westerly, Rhode Island

“Your painting is still my favorite piece of art I own, one of my treasured possessions and now lives high on the main wall of our living room”
– Jay, Colorado

“what I love about your WORK- they always bring a spirit- true spirit to everyone involved. “
– Connor, Studio City, CA

“I was able to get the paintings unpacked this weekend and they are great. The website doesn’t do them justice. I really love the colors in person and the textures are fantastic.”
– Ben, Des Moines, Iowa

“My love and appreciation of art comes from an instant feeling inside when I first lay eyes on it, best compared to love at first sight. And this is exactly how I felt when I first saw “Little Bike.” There is a feeling or emotion that I can’t put into words when I see the painting, I don’t know if it’s the way the colors seems to change and dance from hour to hour as the light changes throughout the day or if there is true magic in the way the colors made their way onto the canvas. Whatever “it” is, it’s special and fills me with much joy everyday.”
– Alex, Palm Springs, CA
“Every time someone comes over to my place one of the first things they ask me is where I got my paintings. They are so bright and eye catching and really wonderful to look at. I’ve just had my first child and he also spends much time looking up at our distinctive umbrella paintings. He is fascinated by the colors and often smiles and talks to the paintings. I don’t think you can ask for more from works of art.”
– Kate, Sherman Oaks
“Something that struck me about your work- to me the visual landscape of New York is often an over-saturated panorama of lines in constant motion and jumble- almost visual chaos to me. Your paintings capture the energy and pulse of NYC but bring a point of focus to the frame. It’s a manageable snapshot of an otherwise overwhelming environment- that’s pretty incredible.”
